I started birding in Kent in the south-east of England and have had a passion for wildlife, particularly birds, from a very young age. In 2002 I began digi-scoping while out birdwatching using a Nikon Coolpix 995 and Swarovski 80HD.
I now use a Canon EOS 30D (70-200mm and 100-400mm) and have had a number of images published in leading British wildlife magazines.
As well as birding in Kent I used to travel the length and breadth of the UK to find rare and new species to me. In addition I have been fortunate enough to photograph the wildlife in many other countries, such as Samoa, Sri Lanka, India, and many more.
Late in 2007 I moved to the Rakiura National Park on Stewart Island, New Zealand, to take up a position as a Birdwatching Guide. I now spend most days showing other birders New Zealand endemics on Ulva Island as well as a variety of seabirds on pelagics on the Foveaux Strait.
